This past week has been pretty interesting. I didn't bother going into college on Monday or Tuesday which was fun. I blamed the small portion of snow in my garden and a seven page essay on the tin can. Then on Wednesday I went up to have lunch in Hazel and Eoghan's and hung out with Hazel for a bit cos she's all incision-ised with her lack of appendices. I couldn't stay too long though, because I had to dash off for the least favourable 4-10 shift in work. But it was weird, cos I ended back at the house after work eating chinese with them and my parents.
Thursday was such a downer. It was Joey's birthday and we were all meant to go to Fibbers. The blasted snow arrived right on schedule at my departure and needles to say, the 6 o clock 84 was nowhere to be seen. Stephen dropped me into Greystones so I could hopefully catch any bus possible. It was so weird, because I was standing at the bus stop in the drizzling rain with Rob on the other end of the phone in a blizzard...and this was in Bray, a mere ten minutes away! I was really worried that the bus wouldn't make it over Bray head because the snow was apparently really bad there....and it really was. There were cars abandoned on the sides of the road, cars reversing down the hill on the opposite lane, and an irish version of Mr. Plough struggling up Wine Gates hill to clear the road.
We actually got over the hill ok and eventually made it to Bray, but when we got to Tesco there were buses [including the 84!] parked at the side of the road all unoccupied. I thought we were going to fly by them, but the bus driver suddenly announced "Yeah, this is as far as I can go" and we had to walk the rest of the way. Fucked. I got soaked and if you squeezed my shoes, a shit load of water would have dripped out. I was so pissed off, because Rob and Joey were already in town and I knew it would take ages to get a dart in. My whole outfit/makeup was ruined and I suddenly wasn't in my usual Fibbers spirit. I eventually rang Rob and said I wasn't going to go in, and headed to Hazel & Eoghan's instead; I couldn't even get home. Bray head was so bad, they closed the road.
Friday was more upbeat, I went into town with Sara and had a laugh before going to Katie's 21st. It was a bit shit though, because I only got home at 6 and I was meant to be leaving for Sara's at about 7 ish. I ended up getting majorly stressed and we were so late going down. The party was in the Martello and there was a fair few people there when we arrived. It was such a laugh, although the three of us were quite outnumbered by Katie's college gang. But we did get talking to one or two of them throughout the night, so it was grand. Jonny was being a loon as usual, but he's awesome. Oh and some guy came on to me, but it wasn't returned.
I stayed in Sara's that night and we didn't get to bed until about 4 ish. I had to be up again at half 9 to go to work and that was painful. Worked from 10.30-6.30 and then legged it home again to go back out on the 8.15 bus to Doyles for Joey's 21st. That was great. The music was absolutely class, yer man even played Green Day for me. Except the place is faaaaaaar too small and you actually can't dance properly. For the number of people there, the size of the place is ridiculous. But it was class, because after ordering two drinks, I approached the bar for my third and the bar man just whipped out the bulmers light for me....that happens in Fibbers too. I must be the only person who drinks it or something, they always remember what I want. =D So yeah, Doyles was a success. And I got talking to Joey's friend Eric who's a huge Dylan Moran & Simpsons fan. Quotes were well traded.
It was a great night, except it ended with Rob from Fibbers asking me to go out with him and nearly missing my stop on the Finnegans. Ha! Rob was like "You'll fall asleep!" and I was there going "Eh, I won't." But all of a sudden, Rich was like "Eh, hello?! Are you awake there?" when we were going through Kilcoole village. Oops. As for Rob asking me out, that was slightly awkward. I was like "Eh, I don't think it would work. We live too far away." <----- but in actual fact, that really is true, it wasn't some lame excuse. Today was also grand, I just worked 1-6 and then came home and did absolutely nothing except eat my hot cross bun =]
I know I don't have a thing for Chris, but why is he so cool?!
There's something about him....
